RoCo Dramatic Society is a Leeds based amateur dramatic society.

Held at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church, Shaftesbury Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds, LS8 1DS, the drama group was formed when St Andrew’s was Roundhay Congregational Church – hence the name – RoCo. In May 2013 we celebrated our 50th anniversary.

We like to stage a wide variety of plays, from Comedies to Classics, Mysteries to Musicals. We put on two plays a year, in March and November, rehearsals for which take place on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, for twelve weeks, from January to March, and September to November.

We also produce a Murder Mystery in the summer. This is usually performed on two nights with the audience seated at tables, café style, with supper served during the interval.

There is an Annual General Meeting in May or June, which members of RoCo are encouraged to attend, with social time afterwards. Members also have the opportunity, if they wish, to participate in drama for worship and in the musicals performed by the church. Occasionally we have Social Evenings and play readings, as well as visits to support other drama groups, both amateur and professional.

We are always happy to welcome new members both on stage and behind the scenes. If you are interested in treading the boards, being a member of the stage crew, helping with wardrobe, make-up and stage management etc, please do get in touch! As with most drama groups, men are in short supply and we would also welcome more young people between the ages of 17 and 30.

If you would like to find out more about joining RoCo, about our next production, or if you would like your name added to our contact list, please do get in touch with us by visiting the contact page.
